LAST YEAR'S TREE.

These logs are from last year's Christmas tree. For the past several years I have de-limbed and sawed up the tree immediately after the holidays. Always, in the past, I have used the old Christmas tree for a special Christmas morning fire, but this year we are going to burn it as we decorate the new tree. No symbolism there- I just think it's awesome.
The old girl still wants to be part of the scene. She'll lend cheer and warmth to a room one last time.

Don't you thyink that this is torture for the new tree? She's going to have to watch what you wretched people do to the old trees when they no longer serve your purpose, or fit into your lives. This is cruel, Josh Tate. Cruel.

on . contrary- a truly altruistic tree will be happy to give warmth and happiness even after his/her having been cut dowm in life. It's sort of like donating one's organ's after you die.
I think it will inspire the new tree to live ,even as it dies, for the good of others.
And to ashes we all shall return
