I HATE GROUND SQUIRRELS

On Saturday I discovered that a ground squirrel had infiltrated the chicken wire cage that covers my beets and had successfull devoured some of them. I quickly harvested the remaining plants before they could fall into enemy hands despite the fact that they had not yet reached full maturity. The roots were tiny, but I steamed the entire plant and they were DELICIOUS!!!




Beets are sooooooo good! On Wednesday I plan on planting a second crop of beets, and adding some more security devices to foil those pesky varmints.
