What is the classiest candy? Suppose you've been invited to a party at the White House- You're standing in the rose garden surrounded by a veritable whose who of the nations leaders and newsmakers. The President sidles up to you to get your advice on some matter of national importance. You reach into your pocket and offer him...what?

Jelly Belly jellybeans, a la Reagan, or perhaps Werther's Original.
If not those candies wrapped up to look like strawberries, then straight up peppermint lifesavers.
The spark, the understated flavor, the clean packaging...
It's the total package
chocolates. everyone knows that chocolates hearken back to an era when visitors from far off lands brought kings and queens the most delicious treats, and that was chocolate.
although it would melt in your pocket.
I think classiness lies in the packaging more than the actual candy. That is why I say a stick of good ol' chewing gum is the classiest candy. "Yes sir, Mr. President, I do have some thoughts on that topic." You would say as you pull a pack of Clove chewing gum from your pocket, and with a flick of your thumb you give a stick a push so that it extends from the pack. It's just cool, and... dare I say- classy.
Altoids and the common peppermint come in second and third respectively followed by necco wafers.
necco wafers are east block.
I would choose after dinner mints, the pastel colored ones that look soft and melt quickly. If possible, individually wrapped in golden cellophane.
