UNRELATED SHOTS

The owl at the top of the stairs was carved by, general contractor and skilled craftsman, Horst Gabower (sp?) and given to the family after he finished the houses overhaul. It sits atop the railing at the top of the stairs. I love it, and I admire Horst's carving skills. He's really amazing.
Thanks to the natural breakwater of Rock Dundar the shore beneath the house is mostly small smooth stones like this.
Freshwater mussels are still common in the shallows and along the shore. Their shells are an important commodity to the Widjiwats who call the region home.

Benson's tiny post office is located in the town's general store.
