I don't know why pudding isn't more popular. In most respects, I think it is superior to ice cream. I think America needs to give pudding another look. I would almost always prefer a bowl of pudding to any other desert. Am I alone in this? Who's with me? C'mon America!
Ice cream is best. We do occasionally make a dessert with oreos, chocolate pudding (it HAS to be from scratch), and topped with melted marshmallow and whipped cream. It is delicious and called Holstein Torte.
This from somebody who has tasted squirrel and likes Dolly Parton! Your taste is supect, and your assessment of pudding's place is erroneous and onerous.

I make suger free pudding every week with the last of the milk. SOOOO good. Sherry
i like pudding, but it is, in no way, superior to ice cream.
I like pudding and while it is a healthier alternative to ice cream it is not better.
I 100% agree with Lisa - pudding is certainly a nice treat, but NO WAY superior to ice cream!

I question whether pudding should even be classified as dessert. Pudding is a poor man's yogurt.
