The courthouse, I can imagine reporting for jury duty and meeting a spectacular man through that vein. Besides, hospitals have a distinctive scent that I can't stand; I wouldn't want to have that smell associated with my marriage.
Both option are rather bad. If I meet my husband in the hospital there is a chance that he is very ill and will die soon (better to loved and lost than never to love at all?), but the court house has lots of creepy people (criminals, lawyers, etc.) I really can't choose, I've never been to the court house and avoid the hospital at all costs.
From working as a social worker for 3 years, and doing a lot of court advocating, as well as waiting for cases out in "the hall" - this is easy for me: I'd choose the hospital. I've seen far too many scary things in the Courthouse that I wouldn't want a lifelong association with it. The hosptial: one wouldn't neccesarily meet a "ill person" there - it could be a nurse, a doctor, a kind young gent visiting his grandmother, etc. PLUS, my brother is a nurse - kudos to him! Hospital it would be!
I have time to explain a little now. Almost no one goes either place willingly, but the hospital visitors are likely to be a more well-rounded cross-section of society, and not (as Cameo so aptly put it) the bizarre criminals and lawyers that haunt the courthouse. Doctors and lawyers are usually not worth the trouble (says the law student), but nurses are probably quite the catch, and those who are visiting someone in the hospital are probably quite loving.
That's good rationale Steve. I vote with you on this one (based solely on your powers of persuasion.) The fact that they are probably loving because they are visiting their loved ones in the hospital is a good one.
I was gonna go with hospital too. Mostly because I hadn't considered the jury-duty possibility of the courthouse, and was imagining that the hospital, at least, provides more time to get to know a person. Everyone knows that waiting is a HUGE part of health care, for patient and visitor alike, and while the courthouse does move annoyingly slow (which I know due to traffic infraction purposes ONLY) it's not enough time to get to know someone.
My Mom works in a hospital and whenever I visit her there...
Let me tell you...
Tons and tons of betty's.
A courthouse is usually, from my experience, a home to wholesale shadiness unless you're looking to pick up a judge. Everyone is looking for an angle...to strike a deal or to get out of jury duty etc.
Oh my goodness, I can't be the only one who believes there are some descent people at the courthouse. I will concede and say that there is certainly more waiting time at the hospital; and because my best friend is training to be a nurse, and I believe she would be an excellent catch, the hospital would be a good place to meet a spouse.
I've given this some thought. No gut reaction this time. Both places have pros&cons. ahem.
I know a number of stunning folk that are medical professionals. Big plus for hospitals. But I don't like hospitals. Illness is very yucky to me. I imagine Christ found it very yucky too, as He was always healing sick people. hmmm, Maybe another plus there.
But again. I don't like hospitals. I've spent much too much time in the cold emergency rooms or hospital bedsides.
Now the courthouse. Unsavory folk? Yeah there are a number. But my experiences at courthouses have, like those in hospitals, given me glimpses of exceptional people. Too, the courthouses I've been in smell better than hospitals.
Also, a courthouse revolves around law. And law is that thing that tells us what sin is. So to me that's a plus. It's based on something given us by God.
Really a tough decision. But because of my experiences I think I'll go courthouse.

I didn't think of those visiting their loved ones. I guess I can choose the hospital now. Thank you.

A hospital is a place for healing.

Hospital.A courthouse is usually either tearing a relationship apart or the arena where some (at times,) bitter dispute is being settled.
A hospital is both a place of grief and sorrow as it is one of new life and joy.
Hospital, final answer.
again, swayed by reading everyone else's. now i can't decide. and if i did answer, i couldn't defend it like these people.
And that's why pure democracy never works.
courthouse. i hate the hospital.
Steve is right.
