QUESTION OF THE DAY

Okay... You've been elected to the senate, and the first bill you submit for the nations consideration is the selection of an official National Condiment. What is your pick for America's National Condiment? Hmmm?

does salt count as a condiment? because most things always need salt. i guess that would be a seasoning.

i agree, catsup. or butter. is THAT a condiment?

I have had a recent love affair with horseradish, but I don't think that would cut the mustard (hahaha). Of course I would be elected to the Senate from Vermont, and I would give a nod to the 802 by suggesting maple Syrup. (Is that a condiment? I think I need to look that word up.) It is purely a north american invention. It is delicious. It is ace. It takes me to the prom! It is the national condiment. I think that ketchup would be a clear winner except both the house and senate would be divided over the correct spelling- catsup or ketchup. That voting block would be divided and rife with infighting, giving the maple syrup contingent a chance to squeak by with a narrow majority.

Well if it was Kerry, you know it'd be ketchup.

Like baseball being "America's Pastime" this resolution need not be a statistical popularity contest when it should just seek to embody the essence of America.

BBQ sauce is distinctly Nascar, downhome, backyard, summer saturday, bayou, beach-going Americana.
